The philosophy of decluttering states that if something is no longer giving you joy, get rid of it. This applies to objects, people, situations, and even ideas. The hold that we allow things and people and beliefs to have on us equates to self-imprisonment. We must let go and experience liberation. The untethered soul starts with an untethered being. Getting there requires simplifying. More is not only not better, having more only obfuscates what’s important. Another thing to release is the past, which arguably has the strong clutch on us than anything. We are always measuring ourselves to it and it’s not healthy. This is what’s called baggage. Traveling light is the way to go, in life and otherwise.
