No surprise here. The New York Times has always had liberal leanings, but it’s also a Pulitzer-winning publication.
The writing is still among the best. This endorsement, written by the Editorial Board, is no exception. I’d give it style points, too, for its eloquence. Its case for Hillary is well thought out, balanced and compelling.
“Our endorsement is rooted in respect for her intellect, experience, toughness and courage over a career of almost continuous public service, often as the first or only woman in the arena.”
The Times has also had a decent track history of endorsements: Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, and of course, Barack Obama.
