Doris Kearns Goodwin & President Obama

As a history nerd, I loved Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin. In addition to Lincoln, Goodwin has also written about JFK, LBJ, FDR, Theodore Roosevelt, and William Howard Taft.

This Vanity Fair interview–a casual conversation, really–with President Obama is fantastic. You get this sense of how self-aware Obama is, how cognizant he is of his place in history, how humble he feels being in the position he is, and how profoundly thoughtful he is and has been with what has come before and what will come after him.
