Sorry for the Delayed Response for those who hate and dread email

For those who dread email, “Sorry for the Delayed Response” by Susanna Wolff for The New Yorker is terrific. It’s satirical and probably all too real.

Email has become, for some, the bane of modern existence. Yet, it’s arguably a thousand times more effective than any kind of communication that’s come before. Pony express, telegraph, fax, the United States Postal Service… all hands down pale in comparison to email. It’s also the best driver of global commerce, in terms of communication, marketing and advertisement. It’s also the best and most cost effective tool for politicians and political campaigns. Although social media has become significant, the email list is still the line blood of a company or organization. Which makes “Sorry for the Delayed Response” so relatable.
