New rules for communication

From Dr. Mark Cheng of the Chung Hua Institute:

Friends, I love you guys, but if you’re going to call me to “chat”, tell me a joke, or discuss anything other than an emergency, please just text me. The older I get, the more I frickin’ hate phone calls. And when it comes to business stuff, please put it in writing. I’ve been burned too many times by people pretending to have your best interests at heart when they’re only looking out for their corporate masters.

I think this mantra is quickly becoming the de facto rule of thumb for communications in the 21st century.
