Update on Heritage Auctions Mongolian dinosaur case

It is reported that Heritage will cooperate fully with ongoing investigations to determine the origin and ownership of the Tyrannosaurus batar fossil that recently sold at auction. The Mongolian government had retained the services of Texas attorney Robert Painter, who filed a temporary restraining order (TRO) to stop the auction. Heritage went through with the sale anyway and the fossil sold for over $1M to an anonymous bidder. However, Heritage is abiding by the TRO and will not release the fossil until the court gives its blessing.

More interestingly Mr. Painter, as seen in the photo above, uses a Blackberry, which–excuse the pun–is a dinosaur in the tech world. Has he not heard about the layoffs at RIM? Extinction is nigh, Mr. Painter.
